What to expect on this amazing tour

Costa Rica

Costa Rica is one of the planet’s most naturally remarkable regions. It’s full of imposing volcanoes, misty cloud forests, exotic wildlife, deep river valleys and spectacular beaches. Because of its incredibly rich and varied biodiversity, it has become one of the world’s most popular destinations for eco-tourists. Both tropical plant and animal species abound in Costa Rica. It possesses the greatest concentration of flora and fauna in the world, containing as much as 6% of the planet’s plant and animal species, and about a quarter of its national territory is protected by a system of conservation areas and national parks.

Itinerary

Spring Break

Day 1: Arrival in Costa Rica

Fly to SJO International Airport and meet your CSLI tour director. Transfer to your hotel.

Day 2: Flamingo

Transportation to the Flamingo area. Upon arrival in Flamingo, you’ll have your placement test and first Spanish class at the school before meeting your host family.

Day 3: Beach day

Free morning at the beach with picnic lunch. Latin dance class and Spanish classes in the afternoon.

Day 4: Jungle river cruise

Jngle boat cruise at the Tempisque River—this river is a sanctuary for birds, crocodiles, monkeys and many other types of wildlife. Spanish classes in the afternoon.

Day 5: Conchal beach

Free day at the beach with a lunch picnic. Spanish classes in the afternoon.

Day 6: Sailing & snorkelling

Morning at Tamarindo beach with optional surfing lesson. Sailing cruise off the coast of Tamarindo with a stop at a coral reef to do some snorkeling. Lunch on board while sailing.

Day 7: Arenal

Transportation to the Arenal volcano area in the morning. Waterfal rappelling activity in the afternoon.

Day 8: Waterfall & hot Springs

Waterfall hike at La Fortuna waterfall in the morning. Visit to Baldi Hot Springs in the afternoon.

Day 9: Monteverde

Transportation to Monteverde in the morning. On the way, we’ll stop to visit a local elementary school.

Day 10: Jungle tour

Walking tour through the jungle to see all kinds of animals in their natural habitat. Latin cooking class in the afternoon. Movie and optional Jacuzzi time in the evening.

Day 11: Canopy tour/zip-line adventure

Visit to El Trapiche coffee and sugar cane plantation in the morning. Jungle canopy tour/zip-line adventure in the afternoon. Transportation to San Jose and check-in at hotel in the evening.

Day 12: Departure from Costa Rica

Transfer to the airport—End of trip.

As a group leader, your travel is absolutely free and includes all meals and accommodation at carefully selected hotels. Because one of our representatives will stay with you 100% of the time, the teachers get to relax during the evenings and explore the sights and sounds of the cities they visit. We’ll make all the room checks and ensure that each evening, the students are safe in their hotel suites or with their host families.

A deposit of $300 per person at the time of registration is required. A cancellation, medical insurance is mandatory, and can be purchased at time of enrollment. Payments can be made by cheque, Visa, MasterCard or American Express – a surcharge will apply for credit card payments. Taxes not included.
